On March 25, 2019, teachers Todorka Nane and Nadica Nane together with fifth grade students carried out the daily activity “Wheat” as part of the topic “From seed to fruit” from the Eco Section of the Annual Program for extracurricular intercultural activities.

During this activity, students had the opportunity to learn more about wheat as one of the most important cereals. They searched for information about wheat on the Internet in order to understand where it originated, where it is grown, how it is grown, what kind of forms it comes in, its usage in the diet, and its significance for human health. At the end of the activity, the students made a poster using pictures of wheat.

The aims of this activity are: to get acquainted with the role and importance of wheat as part of a healthy diet, as a prerequisite for proper growth and development, to encourage curiosity among students for awareness and research, encourage cooperation between students and teachers from both groups, encourage and support a positive socio-emotional climate in the group as well as to enrich the active vocabulary of students with new concepts in both languages.
