On October 24, 2011 on an official ceremony in The Hague, Netherland, the Nansen Dialogue Center Skopje officially received the Max van der Stoel award for 2011. The award was presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands- Uri Rosenthal, and was received by the Executive Director of NDC Skopje- Sasho Stojkovski and the NDC Project Manager- Veton Zekoli. On the award ceremony, a large number of diplomats were present as well as high representatives of the Dutch institutions and members of the Max van der Stoel family. On this event, speeches and statements for the media were given by the High Commissioner for National Minorities, Mr. Knut Vollebaek, the Minister of Foreign Affairs- Uri Rosenthal, Executive Director of NDC Skopje- Sasho Stojkovski and the permanent Lithuanian representative in the OSCE and the first personal adviser of van der Stoel- Renatas Norkus.

During the ceremony, a short documentary film about the work of Nansen Dialogue Center Skopje was presented. The film was viewed with special attention. The event was also a chance to commemorate the work and the legacy of the late Dutch statesmen Max van der Stoel by projecting a documentary film.
