On February 6, 2015 NDC Skopje officially marked the beginning of the joint project with Nansen Dialogue Center Mostar. The project titled “Training for teachers on integrated education is financially supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
NDC Mostar in partnership with NDC Skopje with include 18 teachers in the capacity building program aiming to promote integrated education in Herzegovina – Neretva Canton.
On February 6, 2015, the teachers attended the firs workshop from the basic level training for integrated education. The training participants were welcomed by the NDC Skopje Executive Director, Mr. Sasho Stojkovski who spoke about the importance and necessity for integrated education in the Macedonian and regional context. Following the welcome address, the Training Centre Manager Ms. Biljana Krsteska- Papic and Coordinator for education Ms. Sonaj Bilal continued with the training program agenda.
The project activities will include capacity building trainings on integrated education (Basic level) that will be organized in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. The trainings will be held by relevant expert trainers with extensive experience in the field of integrated education and professional development of teachers.
The Program for the basic training has been drafted and structured to enable the teachers to learn about the characteristics, specifics and acquisitions of the Nansen model for integrated education, and to develop the skills for successful direct realization of integrated activities in schools with multiethnic structure of students.
The training program on integrated education will provide a major contribution to the training of personnel who will work on integrated education activities in the divided schools, staff who need a professional approach to respond to all the challenges facing multicultural settings. The teachers will gain the necessary skills and competences to teach in multi-ethnic schools by applying the most contemporary methods and techniques of teaching in multicultural surroundings.
