During November 2018, the teachers Elena Popovska and Lindita Jusufi carried out activities from the monthly theme Throughout Macedonia from the section Peace and Tolerance. Within the monthly theme, the following daily topics were covered: We celebrate, The colors of the Tables, Music and Musical Instruments and Natural Beauties.

For the realization of the activity We celebrate, the students divided into groups created a poster with state symbols, the flag, the coat of arms and the anthem of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as the more significant public holidays. Through this activity students are introduced to the state symbols of the Republic of Macedonia and more important state holidays.

For the activity The colors of the tables, the students brought previously prepared traditional Macedonian and Albanian dishes and presented them in front of their classmates. Among other things, the goal of the activity is fostering patriotic feelings among students by promoting the rich tradition and customs.

For the activity Music and musical instruments, the students discussed musical instruments and what are the Macedonian and Albanian folk music instruments and folk costumes and at the end, they made a poster. This activity’s aim is to enable students to discover the richness of diversity in music heritage and tradition in the Republic of Macedonia.

For the implementation of the activity Nature’s beauties, students researched about the flora and fauna in Macedonia and presented their results on a poster where they made a common synthesis of the rarest species of flora and fauna in Macedonia. The words were written in both languages. The goal of the activity is to support students’ interest in discovering the specificities of flora and fauna in the Republic of Macedonia.

During these activities, the students showed interest to cooperate with their friends while performing their group tasks. The activities were also accompanied by various games in order to make the activity more attractive for students and at the same time to make it easier for them to get to know each other and overcome the stereotypes and prejudices related to their ethnic and cultural background.
